As well as better audio quality, you can access your microphone more easily, positioning it, and yourself optimally for the best sound delivery. Alternatively, a good quality headset will sound better than the microphone on your computer, and isolate your audio from background noise.

Zoom gives you the option of how you connect your audio when you're joining a meeting. You can connect via your computer's audio, or by dialing into a phone number.

You should choose the option that gives you the best sound quality, but only choose one, otherwise you'll experience unwanted echo. Make sure to check that your microphone isn't picking up sound from your speaker if you are using an external speaker. Echo can also occur if you're too close to another person who is on the same Zoom call.

One of the most controllable things you can do to improve audio quality during a Zoom meeting is to check your proximity. Too close to the microphone can make your voice sound muffled and accentuate all sorts of unwanted breathing and saliva noises. If you sit too far away, you risk being drowned out. If you're using a microphone built into your computer or webcam, you should position yourself within two feet of it. With an external microphone, the ideal position should be about six inches away.

Zoom, in its default settings enables a suite of sound enhancements to dumb down background noise. The downside is that using these settings can sometimes make your audio choppy. Funny thing was my partner had a Formal Panel Video Conference the week it arrived. So, we tried it out. We were pleasantly suprise the sound quality was very good. He sound like himself not like he was muffled. You know you always wait for the feed back on these type of devices. He was on the Forum for over 2 hours and it only had 1 instance of feedback. I would recommend this device, especially because it not very pricey.

Hope this review helps you. We used it with Zoom teleconference board meeting. It worked very well, however, the 6 ft long cord was not long enough for our use. Because of the size of the board and seating arrangement, II had to purchase an additional 15 ft. We've only used this product once, but so far it's done everything we needed it for: being able to be heard on Zoom calls.

We were getting a lot of comments from others on our Zoom meetings that they could not hear us. After installing this external microphone - which was ridiculously easy: plug it into a USB then select as the microphone of choice - everyone immediately noticed the sound difference during our next Zoom call.

It picks up our two voices clearly, even if it isn't sitting directly in front of us. So far very pleased. Note: product looks a lot bigger in some of the pictures; actual diameter is a little less than 3 inches. Cord probably about 5 feet long. This desktop microphone works very well for Zoom conferences. It's a simple USB plug and play, which is a microphone only, but can sit on a desktop and picks up nearby voices very well.

Works great for multiple people joining into the same zoom session, much better than the on-board laptop microphones I had been using. Mac users are known to experience microphone issues occasionally, and perhaps even more so now with Zoom meetings. Is your audio set to your headset, to the internal microphone, or an external one?
